HZAC was invited to attend the 3rd Forum on Rule of Law in Global Digital Trade

On September 26, the 3rd Forum on Rule of Law in Global Digital Trade kicked off in Hangzhou. This forum was co-sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, China Society of Private International Law, and the National High-end Think Tank of Wuhan University Institute of International Law and undertaken by Zhejiang Free Trade Development Center and the Digital Rule of Law Research Association of Zhejiang Law Society. HZAC and Hangzhou Lawyers Association participated as supporting organizations. Zhao Liang and Bao Li, Deputy Secretaries-General of HZAC, were invited to the forum.

Wang Chengguo, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Secretary of the Politics and Law Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Director of the Office of the Commission for Overall Law-based Governance of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee; Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL); and Huang Jin, Vice President of the China Law Society, President of Chinese Society of International Law, and President of China Society of Private International Law, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Huang Huikang, Chairman of the International Law Advisory Committee of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented the keynote report.

During the closed-door session, Zhao Liang shared insights on Why Arbitration—Hangzhou's Thoughts on Global Digital Trade Dispute Resolution, engaging in discussions with attending experts and scholars.

More than 200 representatives and guests from international organizations such as the UNCITRAL, the United Nations Global Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Center, the Hague Conference on Private International Law, the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, and the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, academia and industry at home and abroad, the Ministry of Commerce, and relevant departments of Zhejiang Province, gathered for the two-day forum to share experiences and exchange ideas on the theme of Formulating Global Digital Trade Rules and China's Contributions.

Additionally, the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the Department of Justice of Zhejiang Province, the High People's Court of Zhejiang, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Hangzhou Intermediate People's Court released a series of important projects, including the Innovative Achievements of the Digital Free Trade System in China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Compliance Note of Digital Trade in Zhejiang Province, "One-Stop" Diversified Resolution Platform for Foreign-Related Commercial Disputes, the Annual Observation Report on Global Digital Economic and Trade Rules (2024), and Ten Typical Cases of Legal Protection for Digital Trade.
